This is becoming a fun exercise. Call us the Spin Doctors… crap that name is already taken… f- it we'll use it for now (name to change later)

Let’s look, at the next brand to have an unfortunate misstep, and that brand is Pepsi. If didn’t see Pepsi launched the Pepsi Lives Matter Kendell Jenner spot, you may have missed it because they immediately pulled the spot due to public backlash. There are many reasons why this spot didn’t work, but that’s not what we’re going to focus on. What if Pepsi was our client? What would we do?

How can we salvage this misguided execution? They’ve already took the first important step. They pulled the spot, and admitted their mistake. We’d like to take it a step further. We developed couple of follow up TV spots, that we think would be great in what we are calling: The #OurBad spots.

Goals of these spots…

• First admit fault again be humble

• Second be self-deprecating

• Lastly, go back to what the Pepsi brand stands for, and that is fun & enjoyment!

First Spot

Open on Kendell Jenner with The Director, Writer of the original spot, and Pepsi Executes all watching the negatives posts and comments flooding in on Youtube…

Kendell turns to the director…

Kendell: “Make it Stop!”

Pepsi Exec picks up a can of Coke and pours it all over the computer.. computer sparks and begins smoking

Kendell picks up the can of Coke and looks puzzled

Pepsi Executive

Yeah we don’t waste Pepsi

Fade to Super #ourbad…

Relax. Enjoy a Pepsi!

In a few months follow up with a second spot

Spot Two:

Cut to Kendell laying out at the beach with friends ……

She turns to them (maybe her sisters would even take a pay cut to be featured as well)

Kendell

“Remember that time I was in that Pepsi commercial?”

She takes a deep pause…. looks off into space for 3-5 seconds. Hears the music from the original spot then Shivers... then snaps back to reality takes a sip of Pepsi

Kendell

Woof.. that was bad….
